You’re Awesome!

“We have become his poetry, …” Ephesians 2:10 TPT

You are AWESOME! AMAZING! A MASTERPIECE!

The work of the Creator of the universe is incomplete without YOU (Ephesians 1:4)! That makes you kinda important, eh?

I know, sometimes you don’t feel so awesome. Relationship issues, business failures, financial stress, medical issues, the list is endless. It’s so easy to get caught up in the hurtful words of a loved one, the heartbreaks of living in a fallen world, the mistakes we make, the injustices heaved upon us.

Distractions.

Ya, they’re real. Ya, they hurt. Ya, they can bring us down. They can be devastating.

But they are distractions. Tools of the enemy to lead us astray. To take our eyes off of our Creator and who HE says we are. The world wants you to believe you don’t matter, you are just an accident, you have no purpose, you are just a number.

Truth? Hardly. In fact, you are NOT just a number. You are so important He keeps track of the EXACT number of hairs on your head! (see Luke 12:7)

HE thinks you are AWESOME! We read in Ephesians 2:10 what He thinks about you …
– His poetry (The Passion Translation)
– God’s masterpiece (New Living Translation)
– God’s handiwork (New International Version)
– His creatures who are created in Yeshua The Messiah (Aramaic in Plain English)
– His workmanship (King James Version, New King James Version, English Standard Version, and others)
– His creation (Holman Christian Standard Bible)
– AWESOME (my summary of all )

Believe what God believes about you. It’s where you will find fulfillment. It’s where you will find peace. It’s where you will find purpose in the pain.

In case you’re wondering, “what’s the catch,” your assumption is correct. There is a catch. A wonderful, beautiful, amazing, and liberating catch. It’s the “why” you were created. It’s the “why” you are awesome. It’s the purpose for your being. It’s found in the rest of the verse in Ephesians 2:10, as presented in The Passion Translation (because I love how it is expressed here) …

We have become his poetry, a re-created people that will fulfill the destiny he has given each of us, for we are joined to Jesus, the Anointed One. Even before we were born, God planned in advance our destiny and the good works we would do to fulfill it! Ephesians 2:10 (TPT)

Yes, there IS a catch! And it’s wonderful.

The “catch” is you are awesome, you are amazing, you are His poetry, you are His masterpiece – FOR A PURPOSE!

He created you with a specific “you only” purpose for your life on this Earth. Your destiny is for the good works you will do on His behalf while you are on your journey. And the closer you get to your Creator, the closer you will get to understanding the depth of His purpose for you.

In His purpose, you will make a Kingdom impact on your family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, even enemies! In His purpose, you will make the lives of others better – even if they don’t know it.

Spend time with your Creator. Spend time in worship. Spend time in the Word. Spend time in prayer. HE thinks YOU’RE awesome and He wants to remind you. Over and over and over. It’s the purest form of love.

The closer you get to Him, the more you will understand how truly awesome you are. And as you find your purpose and peace in His calling, you will be fulfilled in the celebrations – and the challenges – of your time on this planet.

When you are happy, praise Him. When you are caught up in the trials of life, praise Him. In your praise for Him, He will give you comfort. He will give you peace. He will overflow you with love.

Your peace is always available, no matter how bad it gets, in the comfort of His arms. In the comfort of His purpose.

The Apostle Paul shared his sentiments in Romans 5 – I like to call it “The Hope Chapter” …

3 But that’s not all! Even in times of trouble we have a joyful confidence, knowing that our pressures will develop in us patient endurance. 4 And patient endurance will refine our character, and proven character leads us back to hope. 5 And this hope is not a disappointing fantasy, because we can now experience the endless love of God cascading into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who lives in us! Romans 5:3-5 (TPT)

Don’t let the enemy deceive you. Don’t let the world define you. Don’t let your circumstances bind you.

Embrace the freedom He gives you, just because you are you.

You are AWESOME. God says so, and I won’t argue with Him.
